Create your ultimate home office

ABZG - Create your ultimate home office

The first step in setting up your ultimate home office to work as efficiently as possible, is by reading these tips. Even though is doesn’t seem that difficult at all, there are a few things you should consider whilst setting up your new desk:

  • Choose your location wisely. The centre of your living room would be ideal if you enjoy the household-buzz, but your dishes will be calling for your attention every time you look around. We recommend a separate room with some daylight and enough space to breathe.

  • Make sure you have an ergonomic desk and office chair. We’ll explain the importance of it in the following article!

  • Place a wifi amplifier and and maybe even increase your internet plan if needed.

  • Make use of the right lighting. Even if you have enough daylight, you will steed need some extra lights for when the sun will set. Make use of an extra desk lamp to generate focus on your workplace.

  • Organize your desk. Whether you need a second screen, a printer or a lot of documents: try organizing your desk like you would at the office. A good arrangement will create a piece of mind.

  • Try to work as paperless as possible to avoid an overflow of useless printed documents that will create a very untidy look.

  • Keep it clean. Your office may maintain a “clean-desk-policy” and whether you believe it or not: it will help you in maintaining as productive as possible! So try doing the same at your home office.

  • Give your home office a personal touch. Of course you are at home, so how more personal can your home office get, right? But a little plant or some pictures of your family can do wonders.

  • Think about the video meetings you will have the coming weeks. Are you comfortable with what your colleagues will see from your workplace? If not, you may want to consider the location of your workplace or the surroundings.
